Our organization's mission is to improve the quality of education in Axum and its environs by providing material and financial support. AAA is charity based non-political, non-profit and non-governmental association registered under section 501©(3) of the internal Revenue Code. As you all know, the schools in the area luck many well functioning and equipped buildings and educational materials. Our aim is to promote quality education by facilitating students needs encouraging them to achieve their desired goals. So many aspects of the schools need maintenance, books, microscopes, computers and more. It would be unrealistic if we say we will meet every need the schools may have. But we can try to work on parts of the highly needed educational materials-One project at a time. Currently, we are taking up a project that will house a Science lab, a computer lab and library with the budget of 2.5 million Birr. This is a huge project and will need every support we can get in order to complete it efficiently in a timely manner. On our first aniversary on June 30th, 2007 in Washington DC, all Axumawians who made it to the meeting at Howard university have paid/pledged to contribute $1000.00 each to be paid partially or at once with in a year. We are pleased by the generosity of our members and supporters. We are now in the process of collecting those pledges. If you have not participated in this noble project, please do so at your earliest convenience. This is the responsibility of all Axumawians and friends of Axum and its environs. Please help us spread the word. We are also selling AAA first anniversary DVDs and T-Shirts. Those Items have been distributed to Axumawian representatives in most major Cities. If you don’t reside in such cities, please feel free to contact us at the above address and we will gladly mail them to you. If not us, then who? If not now, then when?
